Indian Motorcycle has announced a recall for all 2025 Scout and Scout Sixty motorcycles manufactured before December 23, 2024.

The recall is due to an issue with the dashboard indicator that may show the motorcycle as being in neutral when it is actually in gear, increasing the risk of accidents or injury. Approximately 4,926 motorcycles in the United States are affected, and there have been four reports of failures, one of which is associated with an injury.

To fix the issue, authorized technicians will update the engine control module (ECM) software on the affected bikes, correcting the gear indicator to prevent false neutrals. The update will be done free of charge, with dealerships being notified on January 23, 2025, and owners receiving letters starting January 30, 2025.

Owners can contact Indian Motorcycle at 1-877-204-3697 or the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 for more information. The recall is identified by the number I-24-11 for Indian and campaign 24V-970 for the NHTSA.
